Summary of the Book
It was in the year 2009 that Malala, the little girl who has now become an icon of courage and hope around the world, started writing a blog. She shared her experiences in the Swat Valley under the control of the Taliban. The girls in the valley were not allowed to attend school on several occasions. This wasn’t long before Malala Yousafzai made herself known to the public through her frequent appearances in both Pakistani and international media. She strongly advocated freedom of education for everyone, especially for young girls and women in her valley and throughout the world. When she boarded her school bus in October 2011, she was shot by a gunman as soon as she told him her name. And although one of the bullets went through her forehead and into her shoulder, she endured the attack to come back even stronger, and people from all over the world were on her side of the battle. This is the fully updated edition of I Am Malala, the story of her bravery, which has made her a symbol of grit, peace, and hope.
